Risky Investment started his career in the best possible way at Eagle Farm on Saturday, winning the QTIS 2yo Colts and Gelding Plate (1000m) by a length.

Ridden by Luke Tarrant and jumping from the inside gate, Risky Investment was able to hold a prominent position as the field jumped away, and settled fourth on the fence as the field raced through the first 800m.

Travelling well, the son of Power had improved to third in running as the field approached the home-turn, and just needed a run to present as the field flattened out for the run home.

With the leading duo finding, Tarrant steered Risky Investment back to the rail and pushed for a slender run along the paint approaching the final furlong.

Risky Investment showed good determination for a debutante and drove through underneath the leader, joining it at the 100m mark before extending away over the concluding stages and winning by a length.

Being a QTIS race, the win also secured a lucrative $24,500.00 bonus, bringing the total stakes earned for the race to $67,200.00 – not a bad result all round for a first trip to the races!
